Commercial EPCs
Commercial Energy Performance Certificate assessments
Commercial EPCs are required when a non-domestic building is constructed, sold or let. We provide accredited commercial energy assessments across the UK for landlords, agents, investors and portfolios.
What a commercial EPC covers
A non-domestic Energy Performance Certificate rates the energy efficiency of a commercial building from A (most efficient) to G (least efficient). It records construction, heating, cooling, ventilation and lighting, and issues a recommendations report identifying practical improvements.
When a commercial EPC is required
- On completion of a newly constructed commercial building
- When a commercial property is marketed for sale
- When a new lease is granted, including sub-lettings
- When a valid EPC has expired and the property is being marketed
- To evidence MEES compliance for lettings
Levels 3, 4 and 5
Commercial EPCs are produced at Level 3 (iSBEM), Level 4 (iSBEM) or Level 5 (Dynamic Simulation Modelling), depending on building complexity. Larger and more complex buildings often require a Level 5 assessment carried out by a specifically qualified Level 5 assessor.
